Welcome!

Welcome  to the official blog of the Oracle Siebel Open UI Development team!

My name is Chandan DasGupta and I am the Development Manager and Lead Architect for the base Open UI framework, which underlies the Mobile framework as well as the Mobile and Desktop Applications. Other people who will be posting on this blog include my manager Darshan Kumar, who has been leading the entire Open UI development effort, Holger Herbert, our Product Manager, and last but by no means the least, our indomitable Engineers from the Open UI Development Team. Through this blog we aim to offer insight on Open UI architecture, best practices for Open UI development, as well as illustrative examples of usage of the Open UI framework.

That said, on to the first post, which will aim to offer a quick overview of the customization capabilities of Open UI.

Happy Reading, and a Happier New Year to all!

Dear Chandan,

I'm very excited that the first version of "Open UI" has finally been released. I am currently testing Connected Apps on an iPad. First look: cool!

I think it is a great idea to have an official blog directly from the
developers of this long-awaited feature.

This blog will definately have a fixed place on my weekly blog tour!

Hi Chandan,

Your first article has been by far the best Open UI 'first look' article I have read. Well, that's pretty much expected since its coming right from the development team. There is lot of interest in Open UI and rightly so.

I would understand how busy you guys would be in pushing for fixes and also enhancing the GA release, but please do keep this blog alive and updated. That would keep the interest going among the thousands of siebel developers out there who are keen on learning this framework and implemeting it.

Thanks
Sridhar
