EOL of Certification Exams for Solaris 9 OS

Sun is discontinuing sales of all Solaris 9 Certification exams and practice exams. The last day to purchase exams is January 31, 2010, and the last day to take the exams is March 31, 2010.

Compatibility Between Solaris Releases Is Guaranteed

With the Solaris Application Guarantee Program, Sun maintains binary compatibility between OS releases. With the Solaris 10 OS, Sun guarantees source code compatibility between SPARC and x86 processors, so applications can run across platforms with a simple recompile.
