The JavaOne conference team is looking for interesting, innovative, and technical papers on the following topics:
Java SE 6 Update 10 Beta
Java SE 6 Update 10 introduces new features and enhancements aimed at providing an optimized consumer end-user experience. Download it now.
Java SE and NetBeans IDE Cobundle (JDK 6.0u6 / NB 6.0.1) Final Release
Get both the Java SE platform and the NetBeans IDE in one download.
Java SE for Business: Versions 6u6, 5u15, 1.4.2_17
Java SE for Business is a new product based on Sun's Java SE that offers customers faster access to critical fixes, a longer roadmap for support, and enterprise features designed to reduce the cost of deployment.
Java Real-Time System 2.1 Beta
The Sun Java Real-Time System (Java RTS) is Sun's commercial implementation of the Real-Time Specification for Java (JSR 1). Implementations of the RTSJ make standard Java technology more deterministic and enable it to meet rigorous timing requirements for mission-critical real-time applications.
Java Card Specification 3.0 First Customer Ship
Open and interoperable Java Card technology enables smart cards and other resource-constrained devices to securely run Java technology-based applications. This new spec continues the cross-platform and cross-vendor applet interoperability of the Java Card 2.2.2 platform and adds the revolutionary functionality of multiple communication interfaces, each capable of running with independent co-resident applications.
JSR 235 Service Data Objects 2.1.1 EDR
This JSR defines core infrastructure APIs for heterogeneous data access that supports common application design patterns and higher-level tools and frameworks.
JSR 303 Bean Validation 1.0 EDR
This JSR will define a metadata model and API for JavaBean validation based on annotations, with overrides and extended metadata through the use of XML validation descriptors.
ITT Corporation has selected the Sun Java Real-Time System 2.0 and the Solaris 10 OS as the software development platform to update the Eglin Space Surveillance Radar system, which schedules and tracks cataloged space objects. The Sun Java Real-Time System is Sun's commercial implementation of the Real-Time Specification for Java (JSR-001). Read the press release.
Last week we announced the availability of the Sun Java Real-Time System 2.1 Early Access for Linux.
Dave Therkelsen, the engineering manager for Java RTS, introduces key members of his team
and discusses the effort behind this release.

This keynote was given to an audience in Santa Clara a few weeks ago at the first annual "Mobile and Embedded Developer Days" conference. <http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/gvbXufYZraSDd.veU2w3FA>. It's a pretty cool video which discusses Java embedded technologies (everything from the smallest "mote" to the largest real-time system) and gives an overview of the JavaFX platform.
