With only two weeks' notice, Ezequiel Singer of Argentina's Universidad de Buenos Aires, Facultad de Ingeniería, and his campus ambassador colleagues Silvana Canuto Canete, Juan Daniel Perez, Nicolas Alonso, and Ezequiel Arada helped prepare a visit from Sun evangelist Sang Shin, famous for his free online courses named Programming With Passion!, to several Buenos Aires universities. Zhen Tao (Jerry), a functional campus ambassador at Peking University in China, provided a few links from his team's blog. In one posting, he describes how to set up an SAI course-management system with Moodle on the Solaris OS. In another, he gives instructions for enlarging the upload file size in CoolStack PHP on the Solaris OS.
Liam McBrien presented his first tech demo at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland, before 51 attendees. His talk focused on Sun's range of open-source software, in particular on Solaris and the NetBeans IDE. Read more.
