Installing Sun Web Stack on OpenSolaris OS

Sun Web Stack contains numerous preconfigured tools (Apache, MySQL, PHP, NetBeans IDE, and others) for developing and deploying applications. This article describes how to install and initialize the stack on the OpenSolaris OS.

Comments:

Can we please not revert to the much hated operating mechanisms of Windows from 10 years ago? Rather than reboot, simply:

svcadm restart manifest-import

As of a handful of builds ago (and thus for 2008.11) it is not necessary to manually import the smf manifests. The IPS bug was fixed a couple months ago so now it does import them automatically.

Hi Jyri, I haven't even been able to get the Sun Web Stack to work on OpenSolaris 2008.11. Please see: http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=5411 .
