Announcing the Retail Reference Library 14.0.1 and Translations for the 14.0 Retail Reference Model

The Oracle Retail Reference Library (RRL) release 14.0.1 is now available, and its rich content and artifacts are critical to a successful implementation of Oracle applications.

Oracle Retail Reference Library (RRL) 14.x (Doc ID 1617507.1/Patch 19073202)

The Retail Reference Library contains the three components listed below. Each of the three components can be installed and utilized independently.

  • The Retail Reference Model (RRM) is a comprehensive collection of established, industry leading business processes which guide retailers and implementers on the use of Oracle Retail applications.
  • The Retail Reference Architecture (RRA) describes various views of Oracle Retail’s solution offerings, including contextual models, integration models, and deployment models.
  • The Retail Semantic Glossary (RSG) is a Web-based application that facilitates a single source for defining terms, metrics, and measures used by retailers.
The Oracle Retail Reference Library contains deep retail intellectual property that Oracle Retail shares in order to help retailers and partners accelerate their implementations and derive maximum value from Oracle Retail software. 

The Patch download contains installation instructions, all RRL content (RRM, RRA and RSG), and all supporting documentation.

New Translated Content in the Oracle Retail Reference Library (RRL) 14.0 (Doc ID 1617507.1/Patch 18154578) 

In addition to the 14.0.1 release of the RRL, Oracle Retail is pleased to announce the translation of the version 14.0 Retail Reference Model Visio business process flows into 8 languages. The translated content has been packaged in the RRM 14.0 location and is in the languages listed below:

  • German
  • Japanese
  • Spanish
  • Portuguese (Brazilian)
  • French
  • Russian
  • Italian
  • Chinese (Simplified)

Announcing Oracle Retail Tutorials for the Retail Reference Model and Retail Reference Architecture

Oracle Retail  is currently piloting a new training opportunity for retailers and partners – Oracle Retail Tutorials. These tutorials are intended to provide short product-related content in areas that may be particularly challenging, or for which Oracle can add value by providing a recorded demonstration. The first Oracle Retail Tutorials explain the Oracle Retail Reference Model, and the Oracle Retail Reference Architecture. These are not part of a larger training course nor is there any charge for them.

Oracle Retail Reference Model (RRM) Tutorial Overview

This tutorial addresses the Oracle Retail Reference Model’s comprehensive collection of established, industry leading business processes, which guide retailers and implementers on the use of Oracle Retail applications to achieve greater business value. This tutorial includes each of the workflow of the retail industry model levels starting at level 0. Each level is a collection of functional areas that describe the retail enterprise as a whole, using Value Added Chain notation arranged according to Plan, Buy, Move, Sell, and Enterprise Operations. It also shows the Business Process Areas Models that are a conceptual representation of a major business process area. The processes support an implementation of merchandising, stores, planning, and supply chain products, and act as a guide for both the business and implementation teams.

Oracle Retail Reference Architecture (RRA) Tutorial Overview

This tutorial addresses RRA, a set of architectural diagrams that depict the enterprise suite from different perspectives and shows the flow of data across major integration points. The tutorial also shows the business processes and architecture that is important for specific value measures. The tutorial includes a look at business processes, context models logical architecture, physical architecture,  integration models, as as touching on the subject of the Oracle Retail Reference Model.
