Introduction of Shared Parental, Child Care and Adoption Leave Payments
In January 2013, Ministry of Manpower has amended legislations to support work life harmony and encourage shared parental responsibility. They introduced new Leave Payments which are effective 1st of May 2013.
Key highlights of the amendments are; Introduction of Shared parental leave, Adoption and Extended Child Care Leave along with increase in Paternity Leave days from 3 to 1 week.

IRAS File Specification Note Release 8.0
IRAS has revised the File Specification that need to be used by employers for submission of Employment Income through PAT Systems. The said changes were notified in 2nd week of September 2012.

Changes to IRAS Year End Forms
Inland Revenue of Singapore vide Government Gazette, Electronic Edition, on 18th of May 2012 announced changes to Year End Forms. Modifications are made to update Form IR8A, Appendix 8A, Appendix 8B, and Form IR8S. The revised forms have been announced during the current month. The changes so announced would be released in October 2012. We advise customers to review the position statement to keep up-to-date. Deputy PM and MOF announced the initiatives relating to CPF during the FY2012 Budget Statement in Parliament on the 17th of February 2012. Accordingly the CPF contribution rates for older workers aged above 50 to 65 years will be increased effective the 1st of September 2012 to help them better prepare for retirement. On account of the notification, the contribution will be gradually increased to 0.5 to 2.5 percentage from employee and employer.
