Legislative Update for PeopleSoft Global Payroll Australia

Payment Summary Changes for 2013 - 2014

The Australian Government recently released changes to the Electronic Payment Summary Specifications. The changes largely focused on restructuring sentences, changing words and certain terms for better understanding and keeping the intent/information unchanged. Apart from such aesthetic changes we also observed changes that clearly specify the reason for Employment Termination Payment and these changes were delivered by Oracle in the previous financial year. Our position statement has been revised to include these updates.

Workplace Gender Equality (WGE) Act

The Workplace Gender Equality Agency (an Australian Government statutory agency) has announced achieving gender equality is important for workplaces not only because it is ‘fair’ and ‘the right thing to do’, it is also vitally important to the bottom line of a business and to the productivity of Australia. Employers are required to lodge a report comprising a workplace profile in the same format as under the Equal Opportunity for Women in the Workplace Act 1999 (EOWW Act), with no salary data required. This Agency works with employers to help them comply with the new reporting requirements under the Workplace Gender Equality Act 2012. This report is obligated as mandatory for relevant employers from July 2014. Our position statement contains more information and is made available on My Oracle Support, Document ID 1532030.1”.
