Hi,

Previously I was using Weblogic portal 10.3(java 1.6) version for building portlets. Now I'm using Weblogic portal 10.3.6 (java 1.7). Intially I thought both the versions are same. But the view of portlet is different in 10.3.6 compared to 10.3

Can anyone expalin me the changes and differences between these two versions??

Hi,

WebLogic Portal (WLP) versions 10.3.0 and 10.3.6 are not the same and you should expect some differences when upgrading from 10.3.0 to 10.3.6. The best way to see the differences between the versions is to look at the release notes for each version to see what has changed from version to version and also what the known issues and limitations are. If that doesn't help it is recommended that you open a Service Request (SR) with the WLP support team.

Here are links to all of the versions after 10.3.0 to 10.3.6. See the Release Notes section of each.

10.3.2 http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E15919_01/index.htm
10.3.4 http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E26806_01/index.htm
10.3.5 http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E35968_01/index.htm
10.3.6 http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E41236_01/index.htm

Thank you,
Phil

Hi,

I'm using Weblogic portal 10.3.6 32 bit (windows 7) system.

But recently we decided to go for 64 bit windows 7. For this, we need weblogic portal 10.3.6 (64 bit window 7).But I'm unable to get this software in the oracle website.

Could anyone suggest the link to download??

Hi,

Please see the KM Note "Where to Get the WebLogic Portal (WLP) Installers (Doc ID 1330009.1)" at https://support.oracle.com/rs?type=doc&id=1330009.1

After reading that note, if you still have further questions about the 64-bit/generic installer, please open a Service Request (SR) with the WebLogic Portal team and they will help you out.

Thank you,
Phil

I also require Weblogic Portal for 64 bit windows system. If anyone can suggest URL for download, it will be very helpful.

Thanks

Please see the previous comment about the 64-bit installer. I posted it back in September but forgot to approve it so it didn't show up until I approved it just now. My apologies for that!

Hi, we are running our application on weblogic portal server 10.3.0. Is it possible to upgrade only weblogic server from 10.3.0 to 10.3.6. without upgrading portal components?. Any thoughts.

It is not possible to upgrade only WLS and not WLP. WLP 10.3.6 runs on WLS 10.3.6 so they both need to be upgraded at the same time.

Please see the "Error Correction Policy as it applies to Oracle WebLogic Portal (WLP) (Doc ID 1308963.1)" doc at https://support.oracle.com/rs?type=doc&id=1308963.1 At the bottom it lists all of the WLP releases and what WLS version they are coupled with.
