Agile PLM is now integrated with Oracle PIM 12.1.1

Oracle Application Integration Architecture Release Vehicle 2.4 is available as of May 13, 2009. The new release includes an enhancement to the Design-to-Release (D2R) PIP that supports a "New Part Number Request" process between Agile PLM and PIM. It can also synchronize Agile attributes with user-defined attributes (UDAs) in PIM.The PIM integration allows the Design-to-Release PIP to be used in non-EBS installations (say, with ERP systems such as SAP or JD Edwards), or in installations where EBS is at a different version than PIM, or where several instances of ERP systems feed off a PIM installation. A new use case has been added to the Design-to-Release PIP that allows customers to use PIM 12.1.1 as the system of record for new parts. This process leverages validations and number-generation functions that might be configured in PIM for the generation of new part numbers based on product attributes, which themselves may be determined by the Engineer in Agile PLM. From the Agile PLM user perspective, the whole process remains transparent, and his user experience is similar to the generation of a part number in Agile itself.
