Oracle Japan Launches AutoVue Enterprise Visualization 20.0
By Tony Ouk on Jul 15, 2010
Japanese news sources have announced that AutoVue Enterprise Visualization 20.0 is now available in Japan. Here is a brief translation of the news article:
"On July 5, 2010, Oracle Japan began offering AutoVue Enterprise Visualization 20.0 (AutoVue).
AutoVue is an application that allows for web-based document management and CAD-data reading. Using a Java applet, the client can access the application through any Web browser on any terminal.
Using AutoVue to store all design data simplifies overall data management. Moreover, during design review, AutoVue can increase the efficiency of the design review process even with design changes based on multiple users. This is done by only assigning viewing rights to users, so that each change requests can be made without affecting the original design.
New features in this major upgrade include a 3D walk-in space intended for equipment maintenance, the ability to view data in an offline environment, and both 2D and 3D CAD format capabilities.
AutoVue was originally developed by American Cimmetry Systems, which was later acquired by Agile PLM in 1995. Agile PLM was then later acquired by Oracle Corporation in 2007.
AutoVue can work in conjunction with Agile PLM, Oracle E-Business Suite, Primavera Enterprise Project Portfolio Management, and other vendor applications to allow for enterprise-wide collaboration."
