Getting what you want from AutoVue

Have you ever been frustrated trying to bring the right files from Agile into AutoVue for viewing? Starting with Agile PLM release 126.96.36.199 we have been working to improve the usability of the AutoVue integration, especially the ways in which you access files. Unless you've poked around in the AutoVue menus a bit, you may not even be aware of one of the biggest improvements, which is the availability of the "Agile Search" and "Agile Browse" buttons. These buttons allow you to search back into PLM when you are already in the viewer, to retrieve additional files. The two buttons are available from all commands that request additional files, such as Compare, DMU, and Crossprobe. They are also available from the "Open URL" command which simply opens a new file in the viewer. The "Agile Search" button works much like a simple search in PLM, while "Agile Browse" uses your PLM Bookmarks to find files (this button will be disabled if you don't have any Bookmarks defined). These functions fully respect PLM roles and privileges, so there is no chance to access data that you couldn't normally see from the web client. The point of these buttons is that it is a more natural process flow to enter the viewer based on an initial file, and then open more files as you proceed.
