Q: How do you plan to authenticate against SaaS and cloud applications ?
A: We are looking into SAML and federation as a possibility not a big need for us at this point.
Q: Discuss some of the issues and experiences around ADF customization ?
A: For the UI data you want to design your own data model. You will want to have a strong OIM resource for the design and provide guidance on the OIM API's.
Q: Did you use external resources for SSO deployment ?
A: We leveraged Oracle Consulting . We had 2 to 3 internal team members working on it and used 4 to 5 resources from Oracle consulting engaged. We had 2 focused on provisioning and 2 focused on single sign on.
Q: Are all apps in the identity management suite supported by the same operational team
A: Yes the same team supports all of the apps.
Q: What API's is Agilent using for the UI customization ?
A: Currently using the capabilities in ADF ( Application Development Framework) and the OIM API's
Q: Can OIM and OAM use AD
A: Both OIM and OAM can connect to AD.
Q: Do you offer identity proofing ?
A: Identity proofing was not part of the project scope.
Q: How do you address the issue of one identity spanned across multiple directories ?
A: We keep these separate - so internal and external have separate credentials.
Q: Is the ERP System your single source of truth ?
A: We have an employee directory which feeds from HR PeopleSoft.
Q: What is the size of the implementation team and how long did it take ?
A: We had 2 to 3 internal team members working on it and used 4 to 5 resources from Oracle consulting engaged. 2 focused on provisioning and 2 focused on single sign on. The platform took 6 to 9 months - the sso solution done in 4 months. turning on apps within 2-3 months.
Q: What is the size of the user community ?
A: Internally employees and consultants total 20K to 30K - for external approximately 30K users.
Q: Are you providing self service for external users ?
A: Yes we are providing password self-service and provisioning externally.
