Scaling Identity to Internet proportions

Mike recently presented at the Kuppinger Cole conference in Munich and discussed how a platform approach can enable companies to scale identity to Internet proportions. Because the platform provides a cross-organization approach, the platform is more resilient in times of change. Mike discussed how a platform can be resilient and self-reinforcing.
Resilience is often characterized by systems that are adaptive – adaptive means providing a congruent level of security and policy across the organization. For example, web access control created resilience for web apps because a central policy could be enforced across any number of web containers and an organization could quickly change policy to adapt at a peripheral end-point. The more web-access agents we added, the more resilient the system. To extend the metaphor, as a common Identity Platform is deployed across departments, the metrics become congruent and the organization can more quickly adapt. See Mike's slides below.
