The Case for Replacing Novell/NetIQ Identity

Since the acquisition of Novell by Attachmate, many Novell Identity Management customers have inquired about the Oracle offerings as an alternative. Post the acquisition, all of the Novell Identity offerings have moved under the NetIQ brand, with the exception of eDirectory.

To provide some perspective, we partnered with Crimson Consulting to produce a comparison based on interviews with Novell customers. At a high level, the table below describes the suite level comparison. You can read the complete paper here.

The biggest gaps in the NetIQ stack correspond to the biggest security and compliance challenges facing most organizations today: Integrated Identity & Access Governance, Context-aware Security and Entitlements Management. Certification review with closed loop remediation is critical for any organization that wants to streamline the audit process. To provide an alternative to eDirectory, Oracle offers a directory services suite that provides a full range of capabilities. To learn more about the Oracle suite visit www.oracle.com/identity
