Global HR and the Next Act of Transformation

By Bertrand Dussert - Originally posted on Oracle Applications

Over the past decade, well more than half of large organizations have rolled out some sort of HR transformation program. The exact number is closer to two thirds of the very largest global firms that have adopted some flavor of globalized / centralized HR service delivery and governance in that timeframe These efforts initially started with a desire to create scale and consistency in the HR function, as well as improve the overall economics of HR.

A clear emerging trend coming from this down turn is that you can’t make mediocre compensation decisions with thin budgets. Wise and well-informed decisions that impact your highest performers and those with the hottest and most critical skill sets can go a long way towards competing and winning the war for talent.

The cloud isn’t the only technology innovation to change the way we work—consider social. If you’re a recruiter, you know that social has changed the game. So how do you make it work for you?

It’s not just about the sheer volume of people on social media, it’s about the fact that by using smart social outreach, you can more easily zero in quality talent, in less time and for less money than you’d spend using traditional channels. Rather than hunting for the needle in the haystack that is the ideal recruit, top candidates will come to you.
