Taking the Social Media Pulse

How are Oracle products being used in our own social media efforts? How can our customers benefit from those products? Oracle OpenWorld attendees are able to see for themselves at the social engagement center in the lobby of Moscone South.
“The social engagement center gives people a broad overview of how we operate at Oracle with our social media campaigns,” said Leeann Myers, director of Video Content Strategy at Oracle.
Two technologies are being highlighted from Oracle-acquired companies Vitrue and Collective Intellect.
- The Vitrue tool is Oracle’s social relationship management platform for executing our social marketing campaigns. “It lets us monitor, schedule, and get insight into activities across Facebook, Twitter, and Google+,” Myers said. Oracle is managing more than 1.7 million fans on Facebook using this platform, generating more than a half-million interactions per month.
- The Collective Intellect tool lets Oracle keep track of the analytics of the conversations. “How are people feeling about us? How many people are talking about us? We can drill down into those conversations and see what the trends are,” said Myers.
Visitors to the center can also watch screens displaying a variety of activities, including Twitter engagements related to Oracle OpenWorld. The social engagement center is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during Oracle OpenWorld.
