If one day you journey away ...

A French Canadian has produced an interesting rendition of Faramarz Aslani's "If One Day You Journey Away ..." (Agheh Ye Rooz Beri Safar) song in the original Persian. Her next goal should probably be works by Dr. Mohammad Esfahani, say the ones in his recent album Barakat.

The only problem is we cannot hear her play her guitar here. For that, we may consult the young duo of brothers playing the song:

Comments:

Interesting voice...and she seems fluent in Persian too, no?

The song title in Persian "Agheh Ye Rooz Beri Safar" ("If One Day You Journey Away ...") will not be too alien for anyone with some knowledge of the Hindustani tongue:

Rooz == Roz (day)

Safar == Safar (journey)

Agheh == Agar (If) ?

Yes, her voice is certainly interesting. She is quite fluent in Persian as a singer although her mother tongue (French) adds some spice.

You've parsed the Persian title correctly, which like you say demonstrates the similarities with Hindustani dialect.
