Honking to Honor

Earlier, I'd promised to post this video of the celebration of Italy's win over Germany in the 2006 World Cup. Beware of all the honking! You might want to turn your speakers' volume down before playing the video. The video was taken in Wiesbaden, Germany, during the mid-night hours between July 4 and July 5, 2006.

Comments:

Nice video, a little dark though ;-). That kind of partying is probably something you don't experience often in the US. Here in Germany we had parties like that through the whole World Cup, especially when the German team won the game. If Germany would have won the game against Italy that evening the party would have been way more crazy then this! I am from Mainz which is next to Wiesbaden btw., so you maybe have visited it too, when you were there! Best wishes from Germany! Ingo

Yes, the video was taken not even with cheap video equipment but merely a Sony Cybershot photo camera. It gets a little lighter in its 3rd quarter as I cross the street and shoot closer to the celebrating crowds.

Yes, I can tell how a Germany victory would have been welcome in Germany. I was there during the 1990 World Cup and the whole population seemed to be on the streets after Germany won the World Cup.
