This is just a short introductory post, to introduce myself and make sure that everything is working correctly. I'm Jacob Kessler, a new college graduate and new employee for the GlassFish Scripting project. I've actually never blogged before, but hopefully I'll get the hang of it and provide some interesting insights for other people.
A bit about myself seems appropriate in a first blog entry. In May, I graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Computer Science and Management, and a minor in Philosophy for good measure. I focused on artificial intelligence work there, both the practical implementation of it (Computer Science) and the issues behind it (philosophy). Having sucessfully navigated college, I went off looking for a job, finally landing here at Sun working with the GlassFish team on support for dynamic scripting languages.
I look forward to helping with that, both as an additional coder and as someone with a new prespective on the project. The chance to possibly apply some of the AI stuff that I'm interested in is also really exciting. The entire team seems friendly and helpful, and I can't wait to finish getting settled in and start contributing!
