GlassFish 3.0.1 is an update release for GlassFish v3 (see Overview of GF 3); it was released on June 17th, 2010, and is the first GlassFish release after the completion of the Acquisition of Sun by Oracle. This release follows Oracle branding and licensing rules, adds support for additional platforms like JRockit, Oracle Enterprise Linux, and HP-UX, and includes more than 100 bugs fixed. Maven artifacts are available as well as multi-lingual distributions.
GlassFish 3.0.1 follows Oracle's Support and distribution model (described here and here - this entry still needs to be updated) with two main distributions: the GlassFish Server Open Source Edition 3.0.1 and the Oracle GlassFish Server 3.0.1. All GlassFish 3 releases and patches are distributed as collections of IPS packages, which simplifies Upgrading Across Releases and Installing Patches.
