More than 180 attendees dropped by to eagerly talk to Oracle about the need for Enterprise Architecture at the recent 2014 Gartner EA Summit! These attendees heard how to leverage Oracle’s EA offerings to drive IT transformation.
Here are some customer observations from the Gartner EA Summit:
Oracle’s EA providing for Vendor Neutral Guidance: A VP of IT from a leading company recognizes the need for expert guidance to build the right foundation, roadmap and realistic plan, but was concerned that Oracle would be biased in proposing an architecture solution. The Vice President was pleased to learn that the Oracle EA approach is vendor neutral and doesn’t try to impose EA tools or frameworks with its customers.
Foundation for Maximizing Oracle ROI: Several clients with large Oracle investments in hardware and software didn't think they needed EA help from Oracle; with a review of their Oracle assets, one of Oracle’s key EA drivers (i.e., the need to maximize ROI) became readily apparent.
Optimizing the value of EA resources through implementing Oracle EA Services : Many of the attendees were happily surprised to learn about Oracle's large suite of EA Services. Many were already customers with significant investments in Oracle products. These customers were happy to learn about how Oracle EA services can help manage IT complexity, optimize datacenter operations, and explore cloud-based solutions.
Gartner Research Report “EA Business Value Metrics You Must Have Today” (23 January 2013 Gartner Research ID:G00247593) cites that one of the top challenges for EA practitioners is demonstrating the business value of enterprise architecture, but less than 44% of EA practitioners have any defined metrics. Oracle’s suite of EA Services helps realize EA benefits and also demonstrates the benefits through metrics and use cases.
Oracle’s Public Sector Services and Reference Architecture solutions – During the Summit several EA public sector customers (including teams of government junior and senior EAs) were all eager to learn how Oracle's EA methods and expertise could be applied to their EA initiatives and organization-building efforts. The Oracle sales team offered to share detailed Oracle reference architectures and customer engagement experiences.
