Comments:

hi thanks for the info... small stuff.. maybe it's an File naming error..but up on OTN I see the build (5188) but the file name is: Download jdevstudio11110install.exe (751 MB) it (the exe file name) is missing the "1' after the zero.

Hi Patrick I forwarded your comment to our Product Managers It's now the current JDev 11g release and that's the release you'll download by default from now Regards, Didier.

Siba, yes, the JDeveloper IDE is free. Howevern you need an Oracle ADF license for an Oracle ADF application when you run it on another Web Container than an Oracle one. For more information, see " Oracle JDeveloper and Oracle Application Development Framework Pricing FAQ" See http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/htdocs/jdevpricefaq.html#16 Regards, Didier.

I have downloaded the new release, however it will not allow me to install to previous location c:\local\oracle\middleware. It says this A previous installation of this software exists in this Oracle middleware Home. Please specify a different product installation directory or exit the installation program.

Correct - You should not install over the existing install. As noted, the installer attempts to prevent this. - You should choose the option to install into a new HOME - When starting the new version, you have the option to migrate your settings from the previous version, after which , you may uninstall the old version if you no longer need it.
