J. K. Galbraith - R.I.P.

JK Galbraith, one of the greatest economists of the 20th century, died today. The Guardian covers this in a formal obituary and an article containing these three, together with more quotes.

The modern conservative is engaged in one of man's oldest exercises in moral philosophy; that is, the justification for selfishness.

The only function of economic forecasting is to make astrology look respectable.

It is a well known.....fact that America's founding fathers did not like taxation without representation. It is a lesser known and equally important fact that they did not much like taxation with representation.
