Got a mail today asking for tips and tricks on how to take the following form and convert it to an RTF template?
Looks complicated right, the specs from the UK government get down to pixel positions for form objects - looks tough!
Hey people, wake up! Have you forgotten the RTFs long lost cousin, the PDF template. No it does not have fancy dynamic table formatting or conditional images. Its a little staid and lost in the past a bit but it still has its place. In this situation it can shine, no layout development, its all here for you, just add formfields or map them, generate your XML data and you're done!
PDF templates people, don't forget em!

Tim,
I'm new to XMLP. I've customized a few delivered reports and have written a few from scratch since our upgrade to Campus Solutions 9.0 in July. I need to produce student rosters with photos through XMLP. I tried the simple method first by including the table and field in a query data source, which was not successful. My other option is a rowset. Before I spend time and effort researching this can you tell me if I can use photos as a field in my report? The field type in this application is ImgRef. Thanks!

Hi Tim,
Does BI Publisher bursting support XSL-TEXT template type? I've such a template and it provides a CSV output and it worked out really good until I've configured the bursting control file in Oracle EBS 11i XML Pub 5.6.3 to deliver the file as attachment in email. I've put xapi:template type="xsl-text" and the bursting concurrent request completed in error with FileNotFoundException. Is there anyway I can use XSL-TEXT template and configure the bursting control file?
Thanks,
Vamshi.
