Got a PO template headache ... I have relief!

If you have been struggling to build templates for Purchase Orders in EBS with their XSLFO restriction I have relief. Maybe you have been building RTF templates and using the export facility to get the XSLFO template from it. May be, if you're mad you have learnt the XSLFO standard and have been building XSLFO templates from the ground up?

You no longer need pull your hair out, the Purchasing team have released a patch to allow you to use RTF templates. Its actually been out for quite some time and I apologise for not telling you sooner. They sneaked it out and I have had what can only be described as 'fun' trying to find the patch in our bug database and metalink. Anyhoo, the patch number is 4670662 - you need to be on 11i10 as I understand it and if you are on later versions of 11i10 you probably already have it. If you are not sure just check that you have the following version or higher of

java/communicate/PoGenerateDocument.java 115.23.11510.17

Happy Purchasing!

What do you mean? Do you want to be able to attach an RFI/RFQ to the PO?
Tim

Hi Tim,

I am working on R12 (12.0.4) Oracle apps version ....got to deal with purchase order standard report.

"PO OUTPUT FOR COMMUNICATION" REPORT.

I develop one custom report and layout as per requirement ....but now client wants the same report layout to be displayed everywhere in EBS (Purchasing).

they want to communicate /display from po form ---> inquiry --> view document & from i -supplier portal ....

How to customize this ...the patch mentioned above is coming with r12 ,but still the PO REPORT IS coming with stylesheet only.....

what to do ...dont know .....please advice.

Sorry,
But in Release 12 If i want to customize the POTemplate ... then it would not look like possible as its a stylesheet...and we cant replace the style sheet in R12 as if we apply the patch then we actually downgrade our patch level....Please advice...Stuck and no one is helping out .

Tim,
Your information is very helpful. We like the check sample very much. We are on 11.5.10.2 on 10g, Solaris. We are trying to convert our reports to BI Publisher. Do you have a sample for PO template? What patch do we need to install for latest BI Publisher. We saw that we need patch 4303528 for check. What are the main patches for BI Publisher server and client?
Thanks

Checked out your web site ... but the solution is for printing customized PO from the concurrent manager .

What if the client needs to preview it from the PO Screens using the preview feature ?

Yesh

You need to upload the RTF template using the XML Publisher responsibility, then associate it with the PO.
To associate it go to Purchasing -> Setup -> Purchasing -> Document Types, select Purchase Order Standard (Or any other document you may wish to update the template for) and update the value in the Document Type Layout field to your newly uploaded template.
If you are using Procurement Contracts you may also add your custom procurement contract template in the Contract Terms Layout field
