See you at Collaborate 07

Next week I'll be heading to the conference capital of the country -
Las Vegas - to
attend the Collaborate 07 conference. Collaborate is a unique
conference that brings together 3 different user groups in the Oracle
community - IOUG, OAUG and QUEST - that covers all the product lines in
the Oracle family (find out more on the Collaborate
website
).

The participation this year of Oracle's IdM team in
this conference is an indication of how Identity Management has grown to
become a major part of the larger solution from Oracle. My focus area
at this conference will likely be very different from the other
conference I usually attend, as I expect to mainly deal with questions
from Oracle applications customers. Like everyone else who knows about
Oracle's Fusion strategy, they are keen to understand the impact that
all the growth in Oracle's Middleware business will have on their
applications infrastructure. Thomas Kurian will be giving a keynote at
the conference talking to the value Oracle Fusion Middleware brings to
the Applications suite. At a smaller scale, I will be discussing the
very same vis-a-vis Identity Management in a session that is part of
the Middleware track. If you're going to be there, you're invited to
attend:

Session Code: 541

Session Title:
Developing an Identity Layer for the Enterprise using Oracle Identity
Management for Better Security

Session Time: Wednesday, April
18 @ 3:15 PM in Surf B

( Thankfully it is in the
afternoon, which means I won't miss the early-morning stragglers still
recovering from a night in Vegas. I should know, I've been one of those
stragglers many a time. OIM customers know how to party
:) )

In this session, I will cover identity
management from the enterprise infrastructure perspective, and will tie
an understanding of enterprise identity into a discussion on "identity
as a service" in the applications context. I will also spend some time going over the impact of our
application-centric IdM strategy on Fusion architecture and Fusion
applications.

If you happen to be at the conference,
but can't make it to my session, then drop by the demo station on the
conference floor. I'll be spending some time there during the week, and
would love to get the chance to say hello and chat.
