Have you see what it is like to run My Oracle Support in a Car to check your SR status?
Check out this YouTube video
Ok, it is a little supposed to be funny, but seriously are you in need of My Oracle Support "Mobile"?
We know the Flash interface won't work on say an IPhone, and also the HTML version would probably not be your favorite website via a phone.
So we want to know, what exactly would use use a mobile interface for? Are you just wanting alerts of SRs which are back in your court, or updates on specific SR's? Do you want to update an SR from a phone? Do knowledge searches?
Comment on this post. We can talk about it. And when the time comes you can maybe participate in further more refined requirements research, so we can get it right.

Yes - I need a miniaturized html version of metalink for my pda phone (Windows Mobile) that would be great!
We have actually created a "Mobile Intelligence" product for our customers based on APEX and this is what i envision for mobilemetalink.

Yes !! .. we need a mobile option.. with the update functionality as main request, I've seen how hard can it be to get the CRT approval or to check how a critical SR is progressing regardless your location.. Or you may find yourself taking the laptop any where you go..

A mobile site is critical - functionality should include:
-ability to view existing SRs by CSI
-abiliyt to update existing SRs by CSI
-Knowledge search
-CSI profile updates

Shannon.
Are those in order?
Why do you want to update a CSI profile - I thought those would only be useful when filing an SR (which is not something you put as critical)...
Can you say more about knowledge searching?
And if you do knowledge searching, and find that you need a patch, what would your next steps be? Or how would you approach reading read mes and scanning possible articles? Do you want this full service or "lite"
Thanks

We already get notification of updates to SRs via email, and I get email on my phone. What I need is the ability to read the content of the latest update and the ability to respond with my own update immediately, in case it's a simple question, so I can get the ball back in the other court quickly.

A mobile version would help saving time:
I'm using public transport every day. So it would be nice to
(ordered)
1) check SRs
2) search knowledge base
3) forward article IDs to colleagues
4) check configurations for warnings/alerts, ...
currently I'm using metalink2.oracle.com for such work, but I fear Note:784634.1

A mobile metalink would be GREAT.
My requirements would be.
- Html, very slim down version of ML classic, flash is slow and does not add value for my use.
- Read and update SR's. Often Oracle tech ask a question can respond to from mobile.
- Sub set of Advanced Knowledge Base search
-- All word search
-- Exact word search
-- Doc ID search
-- Sources Check box
-- Max number of Hits
-- Product Platform/etc would be nice but not req'd

Hi. As an OnDemand customer I use a lot the classic Metalink on my blackberry. I use the Opera Browser because the standard blackberry browser does not work very well with the java in the classic Metalink-
In my case, Metalink does not only helps solving issues, but also reports problems with the application and request feedback from the user about actions to solve application incidents and proactive support.
More than once I have to wake up in the midnight to answer an OnDemand call requesting for a Change Request Approval for my environments. This will be a lot easier if instead of plug-in my laptop to do that, I can use my cell phone in my night table.
The future is mobile.
Also Flash is to slow for us

Hi Richard,
A Mobile version of metalink would be very helpful for monitoring SEV 1 SRs during times when we can't be at our computers.
Most helpful access would be:
1) Ability to view SR Updates from support
2) Ability to provide feedback and update SR.
3) Ability to view knowledge base, refernced notes and bugs.
Short of that, is it possible to make a change in the email updates advising that there has been an update to the SR, to include the text of the update that support has provided?
Thanks,
Suzanne

Yes this would be usefull. Even if the support update emails had more information in them with the last update would be useful. This way you do not have to use a laptop to get updates on your SR. Also simple feedback could be provided using your mobile device.

Yes, mobile for My Oracle Support is mandatory, when we get SR updates it will be helpful for us to respond the Queries. Classic metalink can be opened with Safari browser in iPhone. Sometimes users call us with some issue and we can look inot the knowledge base and respond to them instantly without looking for a laptop to check that out.Suggestion would be to keep the classic metalink till you get a mobile version of My Oracle Support site.
