At OpenWorld a few weeks ago, I got the strong impression that the majority of you have heard that Premier Support for Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i will end in November 2010. If the standing-room only R12 upgrade sessions were any indication, it seems that many of you are now planning your Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 upgrades or migrations.
Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1.1 was released in early May 2009. Our next upcoming release will be EBS 12.1.2. The Release Content Documents (RCD) for Apps 12.1.2 have now been published -- in advance of the actual General Availability of R12.1.2 -- here:

These Release Content Documents linked from the Note above describe new
or changed functionality introduced in the Oracle E-Business Suite
Release 12.1 and 12.1.x Release Update Packs.
It's important to remember that functionality released prior to 12.1 is not described in those documents. For a complete overview of all functionality included in Release 12, the 12.1.2 documents should be read in conjunction with the equivalent documents for Release 12.0.x. These Release Content Documents can be found here:
As usual, Oracle's Revenue Recognition rules prohibit us from discussing certification and release dates, but you're welcome to monitor or subscribe this blog for updates, which I'll post as soon as soon as they're available.

We are on 11.5.10.2/10.2.0.4 db, oracle says that 11i.10 and R12 will each have a direct path to Fusion application.
Why should we upgrade to R12, and then to Fusion if oracle will support a direct upgrade to Fusion anyway?

I'm afraid that I'm not permitted to discuss Fusion Applications here.
In my conversations with EBS 11i customers who are deliberating between EBS 12 and Fusion Applications, the customers who opt for EBS 12 are doing so because:
a) EBS 12 is available today
b) Their current EBS 11i users can benefit immediately from the new EBS 12 features
c) They view EBS 12 as a more-mature product
Your criteria for choosing between EBS 12 and Fusion Applications may differ.

Do you have any idea where I could find some additional information on the impact of moving off OAS onto Weblogic?
We are currently in the process of upgrading from EBS 11.5.10.2 to 12.1 and these questions has been raised numerous times, but I am battling to find the answers...

It's important to distinguish between running WebLogic as part of the E-Business Suite's internal technology stack (e.g. in place of JServ or OC4J) versus being compatible with externally-integrated Oracle Application Server servers running WebLogic.
We plan to continue to certify Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i and 12 with external Oracle Application Server instances. These integrations allow E-Business Suite customers to use the latest Fusion Middleware components such as Oracle Single Sign-On, Oracle Internet Directory, Oracle WebCenter, Oracle Business Intelligence, and others. We expect to be able to certify the WebLogic-enabled versions of those external integrations with the E-Business Suite in the future.
We're evaluating the feasibility of using WebLogic in some capacity with an as-yet-unspecified future version of Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.
We have no plans to replace Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i's internal JServ engine with WebLogic.
