10gR2 10.2.0.4 Certified with EBS 11i on Linux Itanium

Our Applications Platforms Group has certified Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i (11.5.10.2) with the 10gR2 10.2.0.4 Database on the Linux Itanium platform.  Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 4, Novell's SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) 9 and 10 are certified in a database tier-only certification (also known as a "split configuration").  The application tier must be on a supported Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i platform.

Still Underway

Certification of Apps 11i with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 on Linux Itanium with the 10.2.0.4 Database is planned.  I don't have firm schedules for this certification yet, but you're welcome to monitor or subscribe to this blog for updates.

G'day Steve,

We are currently running a split configuration with
10.2.0.4 database ( 64-bit ) -OS and application Tier on
32-bit oracle vm ( RHEL 5.0 - x86 )

We would like to move the application tier on to a RHEL physical machine. Is 11.5.10.2 certifed with any RHEL 64-bit machines?

Can you please suggest?

-Pavan

G'day, Pavan,

I'm afraid that Linux x86-64 (64-bit) platforms are only certified for EBS 11i database tiers, not application servers. You can verify this in Oracle's CERTIFY database.

You might be interested to learn that Linux x86-64 (64-bit) platforms are fully-certified (meaning, for both application server and database tiers) in EBS 12.

Regards,
Steven

Pavan Kumar:

G'day Steven,

Thank you very much. I was trying to find certification matrix (metalink )for 11i split configuration on oracle vm but unable to find details on the same.

Version: 11.5.10.2
Configuration: Split Configuration
Component: Application Tier
Product: Oracle VM- RHEL 4.5-x86.

Is there a different certification process/matrix for split configuration against oracle vm or is it obvious when the same configuration is supported on physical machine?

-Pavan

G'day, Pavan,

All platform certifications are supported in their equivalent Oracle VM configurations as well. For example, if we've certified EBS R12 in a split configuration with a specific version of Linux, then that combination will be supported in an Oracle VM configuration, too.

Regards,
Steven
