Our Applications Platforms Group has made another addition to our list of operating systems certified with the 10gR2 Database version 10.2.0.4. Oracle Oracle E-Business Suite Release 11i (11.5.9.CU2 and 11.5.10.2) is now certified in a database tier-only configuration with Oracle Database Server 10gR2 version 10.2.0.4 on HP-UX Itanium.
Note: This is a split configuration certification. The application tier must be on a fully certified E-Business Suite 11i Platform.

Steven,
Do we need to run application on a separate platform? We are planning to migrate from RISC to Itanium. Can you please let me know.
Thanks
Prabhu.

Prabhu,
Yes, you'll need to run your EBS 11i application tier on a certified platform such as HP-UX PA-RISC in a split configuration (or a "mixed platform architecture").
HP-UX Itanium is only certified for the database tier for EBS 11i.
If you upgrade your EBS environment to Release 12, you can run both the application and database tier servers on HP-UX Itanium.
Regards,
Steven
