The Critical Patch Update for April 2008 is now available for download.
Oracle strongly recommends applying the patches as soon as possible.
The Critical Patch Update Advisory is the starting point for relevant information. It includes a
list of products affected, pointers to obtain the patches, a summary of the
security vulnerabilities, and links to other important documents. Supported
Products that are not listed in the "Supported Products and Components Affected"
Section of the advisory do not require new patches to be applied.
Also,
it is essential to review the Critical Patch Update supporting documentation
referenced in the Advisory before applying patches, as this is where you can
find important pertinent information.

Hi Steven, As this is the first time an E-Business 'R12 CPU' has not coincided with an 'R12 RUP' release. Can we infer 12.0.5 is not likely to be released before the next quarter release milestone and 'may possibly' even take the form of the much anticipated 12.1 release instead?

Has any thought been given to cumulative 11i CPU patches? After going through the process of upgrading from 11.5.9 to 11.5.10.2, I had to research and apply 68 individual patches (CPU 0705 - CPU 0108). Given the number of customers being forced from 11.5.9 by changing support/desupport I'd think I'm not the only one in this boat. (Support had told me that all CPU patches needed to be re-applied after the 11.5.10 upgrade)

Kevin,Sorry for the delayed response. I'm with you on this. Our Apps CPU team understands the challenges and complexity associated with applying these patches. There's no silver bullet, however. They're working on an approach that may help in simplifying the patching requirements, or at minimum, make them easier to understand. This is a sensitive area (everything associated with security is sensitive), so I'm afraid that I can't say much more at this point.
