Continuing the string of news from OpenWorld this week, I'm pleased to announce that Oracle Secure Enterprise Search 10g has been certified with the E-Business Suite Release 12.

Secure Enterprise Search (SES) provides new search capabilities for R12: Apps users can search for E-Business Suite data using a unified search engine, with search results displayed based upon their Applications responsibilities. Searches can be performed on structured and unstructured data. Notably, search results respect multi-level security, including:
- Role-based access control (RBAC) functional and data security
- Product-specific security policies

Prerequisites for this optional integration are:
- E-Business Suite Release 12.0.3
- Oracle Secure Enterprise Search 10.1.8.2.0
- E-Business Suite SES Integration Patch 6512196
- Installing Oracle E-Business Suite Secure Enterprise Search, Release 12 (Metalink Note 462377.1)
- Oracle Secure Enterprise Search 10g Datasheet (PDF, 1.2 MB)

Great, but patch 6512196 is still being worked on by development. The patch cannot be downloaded because of this. Any idea when the patch will be available because I would like to test this feature?

Hi, Alfred,For reasons unknown to me, this patch appears to be released in controlled status. It could be that another version is coming soon, so they might have temporarily pulled this patch back from general availability. This means that you'll need a password to download it. Support Engineers can provide 7-day passwords for these types of patches.I'd recommend logging a formal Service Request via Oracle Metalink against Applications Technology to request the password for this patch. Regards,Steven
