Ivo Dujmovic is an architect in our hard-working Applications Technology Integration team. We were lucky to get some of his time at OpenWorld 2006 this year, where he discussed the deep innards of the Release 12 technology stack.

Steven, it's a funny thing - I've shared the news that mod_plsql is disabled in R12 with a few of our developers at JPL. We are using mod_plsql pretty heavily to extend our 11i environment. The reaction so far is one of denial and disbelief. In fact, several refuse to consider the possibility even after seeing Ivo's presentation slides (Isn't denial the first stage of grief?).
Just felt I should share what is certainly an interesting reaction.

Does this new architecture mean that Apps 12i no longer will require an x server (like VNC or Xvfb) to support reports/forms?
