It's expected that the E-Business Suite Release 12 will feature an updated user interface, codenamed "Project Swan." Aside from the unfortunate implication that the existing 11i user interface is an ugly duckling, Project Swan has some very appealing new aspects:
- Background pattern for branding
- Base font change to Tahoma 9pt
- Button style change
- Background color change
- Tab style sub-tab layout with gradient background
- Gradient background for header
- Icon change
- Table color update
- Gradient background for footer
- Vertical spacing change

First, thanks for keeping us all in the loop regarding the technology behind Release 12. Although cosmetically different, the examples you've shown us for R12 Project Swan UI seem to share the majority of the layout and content of their OAF or forms based predecessors. How much effort is involved in porting these legacy forms to their Swan equivalent? I assume there must be some tools available to aid in the effort?

Hi Steven,
The new UI looks very similar to the default ".Net" application framework from "Technology One".
I think the colours are certainly easier on the eyes. I have always hated BLAF, and so do our customers (for the forms specifically). We use the standard "blue" colour scheme for forms, and leave the Self Service Pages with the BLAF Colour Scheme.
Do you know if the new UI will give us a choice of colour schemes out of the box?
