Oracle Application Server 10g can be integrated with existing E-Business Suite Release 11i environments, for the use of Single Sign-On, Oracle Internet Directory, Portal, Discoverer, Web Cache and Oracle Integration. I plan to dive into each one of these topics in detailed future posts.
This presentation also includes some preliminary information about the E-Business Suite Release 12 technology stack, which I'll definitely spend some time discussing in future blog posts.
If you're here at the conference in Nashville but missed this presentation, I'll be doing it again on Tuesday, Apr. 25 at 4:45 PM in Jackson A/B. See you there.

Hi Steven,
Thanks for this great information!
If you are able to, can you confirm whether or not Release 12 of the E-Sbuiness Suite will available for HP Tru64 Unix, given the desupport of the Platform by HP. The desupport notice on MetaLink (276424.1) simply says that E-Business Suite 11i will be supported through to the terminal release (11.5.10.x?), but does not make any mention of future releases.
My best guess is that I can't see R12 being released on a platform that a 3rd party vendor has pulled the plug on, but as we use Tru64 Unix and are planning to upgrade to R12, we may have to switch platforms first.
If you are unable to say at this stage, are you able to tell us when this information is likely to be available?
Again, thanks for all the excellent info in this blog - I have passed it on to a number of other Apps DBAs and they all love it!
Cheers,
Paul

Paul, thanks for the feedback and support - it's nice to get positive comments so early in this blog's lifecycle. Spread the word, and everyone wins through better information (I hope).
I'm told that HP will not be porting Java 5 to Tru64, and that they will not be shipping new hardware for this platform.
Release 12 will be available for HP-UX PA RISC and Itanium, and we're working with HP to ensure that there are jointly-synchronized communication efforts between our respective organizations.
Regards,
Steven

Our architecture is somewhat diffrent from both the simple and distributed examples you've shown. We have the db 9.2.0.6, forms 6, apache and ccm all sitting on one server, the iApps (9iAS) on another server and portal 10g (with OID/SSO synchronized with MS Active directory) on a third server. So we currently have 10Gr2 on the portal server. I have 2 questions. If we upgrade the iApps server to 10Gr2, do we need to upgrade the e-business suite & oracle financials base modules to 11.5.10??? And, does the install of Oracle AS 10G lay down the Infrastructure database or where does it come from???

Tony,
Oracle Application Server 10g is only loosely-coupled with the E-Business Suite, so the minimum Financials requirement is the 11.5.8 Maintenance Pack.
There are E-Business Suite technology stack prerequisites for the OracleAS 10g integration; these are distinct from the functional Maintenance Pack requirements. See Metalink Note 233436.1 for detailed technology stack prerequisites on the E-Business Suite side.
As for your question about the OracleAS 10g installation process and Infrastructure database, see yesterday's In-Depth post:
