The first certified platforms are Linux x86 (Red Hat Enterprise Linux 2.1, 3.0 and 4.0, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 8 and 9), Microsoft Windows x86, Sun Sparc Solaris, HP-UX PA-RISC, and IBM AIX. These certifications are available now.
Additional platforms, including HP Tru64, Linux Itanium, Linux x64, HP-UX Itanium, Windows Itanium, and Microsoft Windows x64 are coming very soon.

I see you have Itanium listed as a supported platform. You want to think carefully about choosing Itanium for anything Oracle RAC related. http://blogs.pathf.com/highperf/2006/05/itanium_utanium.html

Hi.
It seems like there's no real combined Database & Apps upgrade path approach. We have currently 11.5.6 on Oracle 8.1.7.4 and in the process of upgrading to 11.5.10.2 on Oracle 10gR2. However, according to note316465.1 (11.5.10.2 Maintenance pack install instructions) the upgrade path would be:
1) Upgrade database to 9iR2 (or 10gr1)
2) Apply 11.5.10.2 Maintenance Pack
3) Then Upgrade to 10GR2.
But is there any way the path could be:
1) Upgrade database to 10gR2
2) Apply 11.5.10 Maintenance Pack

Hi, Simon,I wish I had a shortcut for you, but I'm afraid that your assessment is correct (although the Metalink Note you've referred to should be Note 316365.1).If you're on 11.5.6 + 8.1.7.4, then Note 316365.1's Section 2, Step 3 is authoritative... but you knew that already, I suspect. The good news is that 10gR2 is an excellent release, so the extra step is worth it. I think you'll be pleased with the performance and manageability improvements once you get to that level.Good luck with your upgrades.Regards,Steven

Jennifer,I can appreciate your situation and can understand your desire to minimize patching requirements for separate database patches. Our 10.2.0.3 certification is currently underway. Central testing across all E-Business Suite products is taking place right now. I don't have a release date for the actual certification yet, so I can't comment on whether this will be completed in time for your May 2007 production rollout.I'll post updates on this certification on this website as soon as I have more details. Please feel free to subscribe to this site if you'd like to be notified automatically when more information is available.Good luck with your upgrade.Regards,Steven

Dear Mr. Chan,
We are in middle of testing upgrade 11.5.10.2/AS10g/10gR2 and will go live in May, 2007. There are currently 35 database patches for HP-UX PA_RISC (64-bit) on top of 10gR2 patchset2, and 10.2.0.3 has not certified with 11.5.10.2 yet. Do you know when Oracle will certify 10.2.0.3 with 11.5.10.2? Can you help to expedite this certification? We would need to apply the RDBMS patchset instead of individual patches in order to make the upgrade downtime window acceptable.
Thanks in advance for your time and consideration.
Jennifer.
