New and Improved ADF Faces Components Demo

Along with the new JDeveloper release we also put out a new version of the ADF Faces components demo.
This is a stand alone WAR file that you can download and run on your own machine (or watch the hosted version). The WAR contains a demo of each one of the ADF Faces components as well as demos of various framework features like the push to client, dialogs, drag and drop etc.
It also have skinning information for the components, and the complete Javadoc for all of them.

Two key things that are new in the demo - beyond the new components and actual demos is that it combines both the "regular" ADF Faces components with the Data Visualization components into a single demo file.
And it also has an option to list the components in a functional breakdown.
All you need to do is add ?gallery=true to the end of the URL and you'll get a set of accordions on the side that provide easier navigation through the components.

Looking like this:

If you are now wondering how complex is it to develop an application that uses these components, then you might want to take a look at the updated ADF Faces development demo I created for OTN.

Martin:

Hi,

the new demo-war from the jdeveloper team is very nice :). The "ADF-Framework" (BC, ADF Faces) is a so huge framework, without this demo-source-codes we would have a lot of more problems.

Very good work!

kind regards
Martin

I have tried to access the demo url a few times and many times I get page not found error. So I am not very confident on the stability of ADF framework if demo site cannot be up all the time.

Ricardo,

Sorry for the demo being unavilable for a little bit, we took the opportunity and also update the server from Windows to Linux, and then we found out that we forgot to install one component of the architecture.
I think we are done tinkering around - and the site is up now.

Srivatsa Sivan:

Hi Shay,
The demo is extremely useful and well layered.

I was trying to run some DVT examples like barGraph.jspx and areaGraph.jspx. They run fine.

My question is where are the data for the graph coming from ?
I don't see any Model project in the WAR file. Nor do I see any DataControls.

Thanks,
Sivan

Sivan,
The data in the demo comes directly from managed beans. The demos use simple JSF binding and not ADF binding.
