Global Product Security at Oracle Openworld

Hi, All! Im Shirley Ann Stern from Oracles Global Product Security Program Office.  Ive been at Oracle for 12 years in various roles and have met many of you at several Oracle events during that time.  A major Oracle event is coming up later this month our annual Oracle OpenWorld in San Franciscos Moscone Center.  Because you can find all the agenda and registration details on oracle.com, I will not repeat them here but I do want to bring a few firsts to your attention:

  • This is the first time that Oracle will have a new exhibition hall on the first floor of Moscone Center West.  Traditionally the exhibition has been in North and South Halls.
  • Another first is the Secured Enterprise Pavilion in Moscone West featuring Oracle and its partners demonstrating security solutions for automated audit and compliance, physical/logical security convergence, critical patch automation and much more.
  • Finally, for the very first time, Oracles Global Product Security Office will have a kiosk where you can meet and talk to the folks that implement Oracles internal security standards and processes.

Located in the Secured Enterprise Pavilion, the kiosk will have the experts on secure configuration, secure coding standards and training, and security alerts. Darius Wiles, Sr. Manager Security Alerts will be available Tuesday afternoon to answer questions and gather your feedback on the critical patch update process.  Our Chief Security Officer, Mary Ann Davidson will be there at 4 PM on Monday - stop by and meet her.  The complete schedule is:

Monday October 23
10:30 AM - 12:30 PM - Secure Configuration
12:30 PM - 2:30 PM - Secure Coding Practices
2:30 PM - 6:30 PM - Secure Process

Tuesday October 24
11 AM - 1 PM - Secure Coding Practices
1 PM - 5:30 PM  - Security Alerts and CPU

Wednesday October 25
11 AM -1 PM - Secure Configuration
1 PM - 3:30 PM - Secure Process

3:30 - 5:30 PM - Secure Coding Practices

Thursday October 26
10 AM - 12 PM - Secure Coding Practices

12 PM - 1:30 PM Secure Process

As an added incentive, there will be theatre plays, lots of games and chances to win great prizes we take security seriously but we can also have some fun!  Personally, I hope you all stop by and at least say hello; Im looking forward to renewing old acquaintances as well as making new ones.
