Upgrading to Oracle Fusion Applications: Planning Ahead
Long-time readers of this column know that I am not currently able to discuss Fusion Applications here. Nothing personal -- disclosures about Fusion are being closely-managed across Oracle.

If you've been eager to learn more about what the upgrade process to Fusion will look like, I'd recommend Cliff Godwin's latest iSeminar:
Cliff is Oracle's Senior Vice President of Applications Development. Cliff's 35-minute seminar comes complete with PowerPoint slides, and is essentially the "Cliff's Notes" version of his OpenWorld 2007 session.
Most interestingly, this is the first time that concrete details about the upgrade have been made available. In particular, Cliff discusses how the actual Fusion pre-downtime, downtime, and post-downtime upgrade stages will work, and the implications for your existing data and customizations.
