Getting Close to Oracle Fusion Middleware
I just spent an hour this morning discussing how we select customers to attend our hands-on workshop series. Over the last couple of years one of the most exciting projects I have been involved with is setting up a series of free hands-on workshops for UK & Ireland customers to come in and play with Oracle software.
Each year we select a number of different topics covering the database and fusion middleware technologies and put together one day sessions covering each of those topics. If you want to see what the current list of topics are take a look at the
workshops home page.
These workshops not only provide a great opportunity for customers to "try before they buy" but they also provide wonderful feedback on the products and the needs of our customers. They tend to be very popular with 90%+ attendance, and so the biggest problem tends to be making sure we accomodate as many people as possible whilst weeding out "serial no-shows" and reserving places for "hot prospects".
In addition to the benefits above it also gives my team an opportunity to think about what the capabilities of the software actually are and how to present them and use them. it is a lot of work to put these together but well worth it. If you are in the UK why not register for one and let me know what you think.
