Site Hub for Retail

Site%20Map%20cropped.jpgToday Oracle released its Site Hub Master Data Management solution. Although not built specifically for the retail industry, this product is very applicable to retail. Its able to centralize site information making it much easier to manage the stores and warehouses necessary for retail. From the press release:

Using Oracle Site Hub, retailers can effectively manage real-estate portfolios with a consolidated view of their stores, franchises, competitors and prospective stores. Oracle Site Hub provides a framework for store lifecycle management starting with site prospecting, selection, operation, and remodeling through to site closure.

The inclusion of Google Maps is a nice touch, making it clearer where stores are located in relation to other stores and competitors. Configuring trade areas makes it possible to understand a store's customers and the distances they must travel, an invaluable tool when considering new store sites or relocations.
