Augmenting PeopleTools with Fusion Dev Tools

Augmenting PeopleTools with Fusion Dev Tools

There was an item in an earlier post about augmenting PeopleTools with Fusion development Tools.  Remember, with Apps Unlimited, there is no need to rush to Fusion Development Tools. PeopleSoft applications and Tools will be supported and enhanced as long as there is customer demand.  Follow the link for more information on Apps Unlimited.

So what are Fusion Development Tools?  Easiest way to answer that is for you to see for yourself.  Next time you have a free 15 minutes check the  Fusion Tools Demo.  What a ride.

Want some more.  There is a library of viewlets that showcase JDeveloper (JDeveloper is to Fusion Apps what AppDesigner is to PeopleTools).

While you're there, look at some other great examples in the Oracle JDeveloper Overview and the Web Services and SOA Development sections.  The ADF Rich Client viewlet gives you a peek at the UI capabilities in future releases.  The more you look at these, the more insight you'll have to the Fusion Tools and Development experience.

Back to the original demo.  What I find interesting about that viewlet is that it's Fusion Development Tools on top of an existing E-Business Suite (EBS) application.  That's even mentioned at the start (using an EBS schema).  EBS is a suite of Enterprise Applications developed inside Oracle and covered by Apps Unlimited just like PeopleSoft Applications.

That's one of the great things about Fusion Development Tools, they can be used to create new applications, or extend existing applications with new functionality.

Check back later to find out how to get up to speed on Fusion Technology and what the opportunities are to enhance PSFT apps with Fusion Dev Tools.
