Enterprise 2.0 Meets Oracle Apps

Ed Abbo, VP Development for "Applications Unlimited" apps (basically everything excepting Fusion Apps), gave a knock-out keynote yesterday that has been resonating in some corners of the blogosphere. You can view it here in its entirety; there are some killer demos in here - including CRM on Demand social apps based on the OpenSocial API.

Larry Ellison may have more comments about this process in his keynote, to be delivered within minutes.

When faced with any 'Keynote' presentation, I don't often watch through to the end.

Seldom do I gasp and exclaim 'Cool !' but when I saw CRM OnDemand gadgets in iGoogle that worked offline using Gears, even I had to pause and stop myself.

[Full disclosure: I work for Oracle Corp]

John S:

Interesting demo. But to be fair these type of social apps and Web 2.0 - Enterprise 2.0 type of integration have been part of Salesforce.com for about 2 years.

With Saleforce (and other TRUE enterprise 2.0 software companies)...these apps are not demo's but are in production....
