Ignoring These Downloads is Not an Option
Oracle made two very interesting downloads available yesterday: Oracle Database Vault (for Linux x86) and Oracle Content Database (for Windows and Linux x86), both of which are truly Oracle Database 10g EE options for the 21st century.
Both these options have been extensively discussed on OTN and elsewhere so no need to be redundant here. Suffice it to say that security & compliance and enterprise management of unstructured data have each been described for years as "emerging" challenges, and in 2006, they've pretty much graduated from "emerging" to "in your face" - Denying their importance is equivalent to denying global warming at this point.
