This Just In from Boston: Oracle Wins "LinuxWorld Product Excellence Awards"

LinuxWorld Magazine (& partnership with IDG) has announced the following "LinuxWorld Product Excellence Awards" in Boston:

Best Database Solution: Oracle Database 10g Express Edition
Best Open Source Solution: Oracle Berkeley DB 4.4

A little industry recognition never hurt anyone...

APC:

I think it's a bit cheeky claiming recognition for Sleepycat, seeing as how if the awards had been a couple of months earlier it wouldn't have been an Oracle employee picking up the silverware.

But the award for XE is well-deserved.

Cheers, APC

Congratualtions for winning this very prestiegious award i knew all along you were the best and now someone else has recognized it as well and I am sure it will not be the last.

Justin Kestelyn:

We are all judged by the choices we make - perhaps Oracle does not deserve credit for Berkeley DB itself (yet), but certainly it does for being smart enough to acknowledge its value in the Oracle stack (money talks)....
