Sheesh, Oracle OpenWorld gets more interesting in terms of DBA and developer technical content every year.
As part of the 2005 event (register here), you can now attend a pre-show, weekend program called Oracle OpenWorld: The X-Treme Weekend. As described on the Web page, "This exclusive two-day program will consist of highly technical, deep-dive content not typically available in the regular OpenWorld agenda."
Several tracks area available, including Apps technology, Grid deployment with Oracle RAC and ASM, BI & data warehousing, enterprise management, and middleware. More than 30 workshops are involved, all of them being hands-on and actionable.
Here are just a few examples:
> How to develop high fidelity reports with XML Publisher
> Consolidating disparate data sources, defining ETL models and deploying relational and OLAP models for further analysis
> Automate configuration management across your enterprise
> Identity Management and Composite Applications - Securing and Provisioning Services and Composite Applications
This is definitely an agenda item that I recommend for OTN members. In the next few weeks, I'll have some other suggestions as well.
