SQL Developer Podcast

My colleague Tom Haunert has just completed a podcast interview with Kris Rice, from the SQL Developer (formerly Project Raptor) development team. We plan to release the interview at production, which is approaching fairly quickly.

Among other things Kris describes how SQL Developer approaches basic development tasks tasks via GUI vs. traditional SQL*Plus command line, reporting, and of course, how SQL Developer stacks up against third-party tools. (Main difference: SQL Developer is free.)

Interestingly, Kris mentions that there are already partners working on plug-ins to extend SQL Dev functionality.

As usual, you can subscribe to OTN TechCasts here, in which case you can receive the mp3 via iTunes. I'll also post the mp3 here when available.
