Get to Know Them with a Quick Q&A
Our first annual Suggest a Session program not only produced more than 20 outstanding sessions for Oracle OpenWorld, it also provided fodder for some of our most popular posts. (See the Sessions & Content category.) In the spirit of "give the people what they want," we've tracked down the program winners in order to keep the spotlight shining.
We asked our winners three questions that gave them the opportunity to describe their sessions and share their advice for getting the most out of Oracle OpenWorld:
Q. If you were going to Twitter a friend about your presentation, how would you describe it in 140 characters or fewer?
Q. What's the one session you're not going to miss (other than your own, of course), and why?
Q. What are your top three tips or tricks for attendees?
We'll post the answers as we get them. Find them easily by looking for the "Suggest a Session Winner" medallion at the top of the post. Or check the Session Winners category to view the collected wisdom in one place.

Q. What's the one session you're not going to miss (other than your own, of course), and why?
A. Not to miss: Under the Hood of Oracle Clusterware (Alex Gorbachev, Sunday IOUG Forum). Alex is a serious technician and a very smart guy who always tells me things that I didn't know before, even if I thought I knew "enough" already. Plus, his Russian/German/Canadian accent is interesting :).
Q. What are your top three tips or tricks for attendees?
1. Wear comfortable shoes.
2. Take all the heavy stuff out of the bag you carry around with you all day (you don't really need that folder or book with you all day, do you?).
3. If you aren't dehydrated by the end of the day, then you probably haven't been talking to enough people (or possibly you've been drinking enough water)!

Q. If you were going to Twitter a friend about your presentation, how would you describe it in 140 characters or fewer?
A. Visit session S301752 on how to use APEX for building a real application with a Forms-like user experience
Q. What's the one session you're not going to miss (other than your own, of course), and why?
A. Security: Writing Custom Authentication Schemes for Oracle Application Express (S301630) by Raj Mattamal. First, because the content is very interesting, and second because Raj is an unbelievably energetic presenter (during the presentation you’ll wonder if he can hold on to his speed), bringing his message while jumping around. I’ve seen this presentation during ODTUG 2008 and it was great!!
Q. What are your top three tips or tricks for attendees?
1. Don’t fill your content schedule to the max. If you do, you will be able to attend 25 sessions or so, but still miss 1675 others… It’s better to take some time walk around Moscone, visit the OTN lounge, go to an Unconference session, talk to the ACE’s and other presenters.
2. Don’t waste your time collecting swag in the Exhibition Area. Focus on the interesting exhibitors and Oracle DEMOground, and spend some time there.
3. Take some time to visit the city: Fisherman’s Warf, Alcatraz (book tickets beforehand), bike the bridge, etc. SF is great!

Q. If you were going to Twitter a friend about your presentation, how would you describe it in 140 characters or fewer?
