Fleet Week San Francisco, October 8–13 During Fleet Week, the Bay Area honors and celebrates the men and women of our armed forces. Special events include Navy ship tours and a spectacular air show. Reserved seating and corporate packages are available. Litquake 2009, October 9–17 San Francisco's premier literary festival showcases hundreds of the Bay Area's finest writers for a week of readings, discussions, films, cross-media happenings, and more. San Francisco World Music Festival, October 9–18 Enjoy world music performances by master artists from the Bay Area and beyond, showcasing everything from the traditional to contemporary. San Francisco Jazz Festival, October 10–November 21 One of San Francisco's biggest and best musical festivals features local, national, and international jazz artist performances at locations throughout San Francisco. San Francisco Italian Heritage Parade and Festival, October 11 The city celebrates its Italian heritage with a lively parade through North Beach—plus food, music, and entertainment. Sundance Stompede, October 15–18 San Francisco's annual Country Western weekend for the LGBT community and friends. Join hundreds of cowboys and cowgirls as they dance their feet off with three days of workshops and three nights of open dancing.
